Asian Pennywort (Centella Asiatica, a.k.a. "Gotu Kola") has been used in traditional asian medicine, such as Chinese and Ayurvedic, for centuries.
Gotu kola contains certain chemicals that seem to decrease inflammation and also decrease blood pressure in veins. Gotu kola also seems to increase collagen production, which is important for wound healing, giving credence to its wide application as a healing tool for cuts and scratches.
Often called a "weed", this little plant has a nutritional profile that packs a puch, as well as a slight spiciness that can make a salad come alive!
