Moringa (Moringa oleifera)
Moringa, though used for millenia in traditional ayurvedic medicine and once also eaten by the ancient greeks and romans, is only recently being re-discovered in the “west”. Moringa leaves are a nutritional powerhouse that provides a great range and amount of essential proteins, vitamins, minerals, and powerful antioxidants. They can be used to treat anemia, thyroid disorder, digestive disturbances, high blood pressure, kidney stones, and even skin infections (topically). Moringa is also highly recommended for brestfeeding mothers, as it increases milk production as well as making it a richer source of nutrients for the child.
